Hey DDP and Brenda,
One of my sisters has been going through the exact same thing over the past year and will continue to do so for several months to come. She is doing fantastic, she had a double mastectomy and chemo and IS cancer free. It has been a long, arduous journey full of ups & downs but it looks like she will finally complete that journey with a “happy ending”, full reconstruction.
I hope that all the choices you make and the treatments you pursue work out for you and Brenda ends up happy AND healthy. I have experienced the pain and heartache of cancer several times in my life, my father passed away from lung cancer many years ago, my mother is a breast cancer survivor of many years (she turned 89 today!), and two of my three sisters are survivors, with one still on that beginning journey. The effects of cancer are like a pebble being thrown into a pond, the ripples move outward from the pebble and affect the water throughout the entire pond. Cancer affects so many people, loved ones, family and friends and are felt throughout our lifetime. I know I miss my Dad each and every day and when I look at my identical twin 5 year old boys, Connor & Cody, I wish with every fiber of my being that they could have met him. They would have made him smile from ear to ear, of that I have no doubt!
So, Happy Thanksgiving, thank you so much for sharing this with us, I know how personal this is to a family. Brenda, nice to meet you, keep on keeping on. As a fan of wrestling for the past 40 years and one who is very familiar with Dallas, I know you have someone beside you who will be there keeping you strong every step of the way.
DDP, keep on doing what you are doing, I have loved seeing you changing lives and helping some of my heroes of wrestling find their way back again.
Love & Respect,
